Tell a Story (on my back) Children’s T-Shirt
When I was a little girl, my mom would tell stories on my back. Sometimes at bedtime but sometimes just for fun! She would create these characters that lived on the landscape of my back. They would play together in the rain and sun, eat all sorts of things, and run around from their house to the woods and back again! Every story was a different adventure (at least it seemed that way to me!). I thought this was something every mom did, but as I am learning, it may have been the exception instead of the rule!
This t-shirt lays out a map for you to construct a story line that is easy to tell! Its always fun to name the main character the same name as the kid wearing the shirt… It might go something like this:
One day there was a boy named Henry and he wanted to go out and play with his rabbit friends, so he knocked (use your fist to knock on their back) on the rabbits door and asked their mom if they could come out and play. Their mom said it was ok with her so they started hopping toward the park (use two fingers to hop or walk toward the park at the bottom of the shirt). They jumped on the swing and began to see who could swing the highest (use swishing movements with your hand to simulate the movement of the swing). Then they ran over to the slide and climbed up (use your fingers to climb up their back) and slid down (repeat)! Next, they sat down and ate some cheese their mom had packed for the journey (use your fingers to nibble the cheese). On their way back home they decided to stop by the pond (use your fingers to hop or walk to the pond). They splashed in the shallow water’s edge (use your hand/voice to make a splashing movement/sound). The ran across the bridge and raced all the way back to their home (use two hands to indicated two racing). They high-fived each other (use palm of your hand to high-five their back) and said see you next time!
You can choose if they run through a rain storm or if they find buried treasure or anything else your mind can imagine! Your child will LOVE it and your will love spending quality and calming time with your little ones! (Choose from sizes 2T-5T)
Get one for your child AND one for you! Take turns telling stories on eachother’s backs! It’s a great way to connect and build imagination!
