Her Hands

Happy Mother’s Day! On IG this week, I had the opportunity to honor some mothers. It was so fulfilling to speak my heart in honor of each woman and the work of their hands. Here are some excerpts:

All her hands have done…Part 1

Wow! All...that would be a list! My mom, @moosepinky has done a bajillion amazing things! She inspires me daily with the work of her hands. I probably never fully appreciated all the things she did for us when I was a kid: cooking, cleaning, creating, and cultivating, but as a mother and now a grandmother, I am truly grateful. Her hand in my life has never felt harsh or unkind but always reaching out in love and tenderness. Her constant support is unwavering. Mom, I will forever be thankful I am your daughter!!! I love you! 💕

All her hands have done…Part 2

Nana, Sis. Dudley, Nancy Frances, Nanny Goat, Nancy Frances Goode Greene Dudley, my MIL. Her hands could cook! Man I miss her fried chicken (if you know you know). Her hands were always busy. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids, decorating for events, cooking for camps, playing pranks and touching lives. I give you honor.  I miss you. I love you.

All her hands have done…Part 3

Merriam Alexander. She became Merriam Bass when she married my dad. Merri with no biological children instantly became a mother of four. We were not young, in fact, I was the youngest and I was in high school. You can imagine how difficult this must have been for her. Four very loud, very boisterous children who were struggling with the dynamics of an altered family unit. The grace and dignity she showed through this time was and is mind blowing to me. She held out her hands without agenda. She sincerely wanted to know us. As a young adult I watched her and admired her spunk, stamina, and wisdom. I love you and respect you Merri Alexander and thank God for you! 💕

All her hands have done…Part 4

Today I have the chance to honor my two girls! Both outstanding mothers. Each unique in their personalities, gifting and parenting styles. That is the best part about being a mother. The method we use, the style we choose and the personality we bring to the table are just the vehicles that get us to the place where we show our love, our hearts, and our desires for the best in our children. As mothers, we have the opportunity to show our children like no other mother can. God designed it that way and I am so grateful! Happy Mother’s Day Morgan and Megan! I am so very proud of the mothers that you are and the kiddles you are raising! Love watching them grow and learn under your voice and your hands. I honor all that you do for them. While they are still too young to appreciate all you do, it does not go unnoticed!
